Born and raised in Southern California, Eddie Nakada grew up surfing and after college, moved to Utah and worked at a ski resort for the last 17 years. At the end of 2009, after many trips diving and surfing in Central America, he decided to quit the ski business and move to Roatan. He did his Dive Master internship at Native Sons and has worked for us ever since, becoming an instructor in November 2010.
Originally from Alberta , Canada, Kasey Fox has been living the salt life since January 16, 2019. While living in Vancouver she started diving and many years later made the decision to follow her passion and complete her Instructor course here in Roatan in March of 2019. She has been working for Native Sons since January 2020.
Alex Oblas started diving when he was 12 and his love for the sea continued to grow. Born and raised in California he is also an avid fisherman. While on vacation in Roatan Alex met his now wife Kasey. He became a divemaster in early 2023 and started working immediately for Native Sons. He completed his instructor training in July 2024.
Kfer Jackson, on the left and Teo Jackson, on the right, are the sons of the owner, Alvin Jackson. These 2 are the real native sons, both born and raised on Roatan. Once they graduated from high school they decided to become dive instructors and join the family business. They are really making themselves useful; captaining the boats, leading dives, teaching courses and filling tanks. As of January 2020 Teo joined the Royal Navy and is now a Leading Hand working in marine engineering. Being his loving mother I didn’t want to delete his photo from the page and his father, Alvin, and I are hopeful he will return at some point so we will leave his info here!
